Dr. John Goode tells the story of him and his wife moving from Iowa to California in the late 1950s and how he came about stating his dental practice in San Pedro.

Dr. John Goode was born in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1929. He graduated from University of Michigan (B.A.) and University of Iowa for dentistry and specialty in orthodontics.
After stint in U.S.A.Army Dental Corps (1955-57) he came to California to open private practice in orthodontics (1960) from which he retired 2007.
He and his late wife Lydia (married over 50 years) loved living San Pedro/Peninsula area where they raised their family.
He was very active in the community: Kiwanis Club (President 1965); San Pedro Art Association (President 1953); San Pedro Chamber of Commerce (Director, 1962). Along with other professional colleagues he founded the SP Dental Association that met for many years at Ante’s restaurant to discuss their profession, current events, local interests. He was also active in: Southern California Dental Golf Association (President,1970); Los Verdes Men’s Golf Club (President, 1957); Rolling Hills Country Club (Director, 1974). Other interests include travel, skiing, music, tennis, art, fitness.
He currently resides in Palos Verdes Shores (mobile l homes) South Shores, SP, and plays golf daily at their nine hole golf course.
Many children, now adults, and others owe him much for their beaming smiles!
