Stories of Los Angeles Harbor Area: For Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow (SOLAHA Vol. VI, No. 13)
San Pedro native journalist and public relations consultant Xavier Hermosillo tells story of how he diverted from sports reporter to cover a violent crime (that was apparently murder) in downtown SP that lead to him tesiftying in court and the perpetrator behind bars (and still is)
Xavier is local and nationally recognized crisis management and communications expert, certified mediator, co-founder of two publicly-traded companies on the NYSE and NASDAQ stock exchanges, award-winning print/radio/television journalist, and the creator of two LAPD community relations programs that are now the top national models. He also served for 20 years with Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) as a Discipline Hearing Examiner, and was Chief of Staff to both a Democrat California Assemblyman Vincent Thomas and Republican California Assemblyman Gerald Felando, Speaker Pro Tem of the California State Assembly in Sacramento.
He and his wife of over four decades Shirley are proud parents of five children, all very accomplished. Xavier’s mother Blanca was the first ever court interpreter for Spanish/English.
His career(s) and lifetime accomplishments are impressive and inspired by the foresight and wisdom of his mother.
