Lora Caudill, third generation San Pedran recounts “family night” every Thursday at The Elks Club and learning to dance
Over 20 years ad educator/teacher/administrator Lora has had numerous positions throughout the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). She began teaching fifth grade science, then promoted to Literacy Coach at Century Park Elementary in Inglewood, became Instructional Coach and Categorical Program Advisor at Cabrillo Avenue Elementary School and principal of Leland Street Elementary School (both in San Pedro) where she was commended for her work with military families and honored in Washington, D.D. She was promoted to Equity Director for LAUSD then returned to campus life, currently principal of Van Deen STEAM Academy; and is working on the school becoming a magnate campus.
She’s a wife and mother of 28 year old son Jay, fourth generation San Pedro High School graduate, currently working with LAUSD at Gulf Avenue Elementary School (Wilmington) and teenage daughter Samantha, excellent student and star volleyball player.
Her commitment to education, family and community is consistent and ever energetic.
