SOLAHA Vol. IV, No. 5 Danny Kadota Fishing With Grandpa
Danny Kadota, the former manager of the Crusty Crab, located in Ports of Call, tells the story of how he first came to San Pedro as a kid to fish with his Grandpa as a reward for a good report card and good behavior.
Danny has worked and resides in San Pedro for decades. He grew up in the Crenshaw area, attended Coliseum Street Elementary School, Audubon Jr High, Dorsey High School and I graduated from University of California San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and a minor degree in Sociology.
From the age of four, his grandparents recognized my passion for fishing. Fishing kept him focused. He was active in sports, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts; and a church going family and my parents took active roles in leadership within all those organizations.
He spend years on the water as a sport fishing captain and owner of three boats that kept me away from home for long periods of time, so when he was preparing to marry he decided to retire, and made our home in San Pedro and I chose a career that would allow him come home every night. This new career was representing and consulting for many high end fishing tackle manufacturers. After many years in this capacity, he decided to start his own rod manufacturing company, Semper Fish Rods. He’s currently Founder and CEO of the family run business.
Many more fishing stories to come from Danny who exudes vitality and enthusiasm for fishing and the sea.
