One of San Pedro High’s most successful graduates, Mel Lindsey, grew up going to Mt. Sinai Baptist Church on Mesa in San Pedro. He explains how African American churches have played a great role in providing leadership roles for Blacks throughout United States history.

Mel  achieved great success in his career in the world of finance and investments and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and received his MBA in Finance from the Anderson School at UCLA. He also attended IMD Seminar, Switzerland, an executive leadership program. He is currently  managing partner and CEO of Nile Capital Group LLC,  serves on the board of the Toigo Foundation, the South Central Scholar Fund and the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles and is a member of Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts.

What a great story that is so complimentary to February “Black History Month” yet resonates timelessly with regard to good core values and respect for humanity.
